Vividata's ScanShop provides a uniform interface for scanners in the Unix environment. Vividata's software is instantly effective and quick to install, and easy to use. ScanShop will enable you to capture images easily and efficiently.

With its Motif and OpenLook Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), ScanShop can be a stand-alone application...or, with its Command Line Interface (CLI), ScanShop can be used as an imbedded image capture or batch scanning utility within other applications.

ScanShop reads and writes all standard file formats, allowing image exchange with the most popular applications. Vividata software supports a variety of scanners including all of the most popular SCSI and GPIB scanners.

ScanShop comes with an automated installation script that allows even non-technical users to easily and quickly install ScanShop. Changing scanning settings is intuitive, and ScanShop's comprehensive user manual includes a detailed description of each feature for each supported scanner.

ScanShop Makes Your Scanner Shine

Every scanner has unique features. You probably chose your scanner for those differentiating features. ScanShop has scanner-specific Options windows which let you scan using not only the features common to all scanners but also with those special features found in your scanner.

Scanner settings are "point and click" simple using slider bars and buttons.
Resolution is easily adjusted via dots-per-inch and bit-per-pixel settings. Image size information is dynamically updated when you change resolution settings.
Fast, low-resolution image preview saves you time. Select the desired scan area and modify the scanner settings before you scan.
Image editing functions include cropping, zoom, vertical and horizontal mirroring and rotation.
Full control over the characteristics of the scanning process for 24 bit color, gray scale, and black and white scanners is provided for up to seven scanners per SCSI bus.

Command Line Interface Benefits:

Integrate scanning into your application quickly and easily
Issue a single UNIX system call to ScanShop's CLI to access all scanner functions. The CLI is developer-friendly; it allows partial (incomplete) parameter input and supports a flexible input order.

Do batch scanning with a scanner's Automatic Document Feeder
ScanShop's interactive batch mode setup makes it very easy. First use the Graphical User Interface to set and save the scanner settings to a file. Then initiate a batch scan using the settings file.
